Isn’t it shocking how the light changes our perspective on our surroundings.  In the dark an item that is a tripping hazard, is transformed when the light comes on and we easily see and step over or on the same object. What has changed, it’s shape, it’s color, it’s structure or strength no, the only difference is the light!  In a world so full of darkness it is easy to get thrown off track, things often look much different in the dark.   Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. -Galatians 5:1 Good morning and terrific Thursday to you! Oh the joy of salvation! The peace of knowing Christ and the surety of it all. If only we would consistently remain in our liberty, which was wrought by the suffering of Christ.  Yes it is a challenge and a daily struggle to beat back the onslaught of the flesh, but considering in our corner is the creator of it all, let’s embrace our great encouragement.  Standing still in that liberty, means standing still in our peace that surpasses understanding, basking in that perpetual joy that is even there when we aren’t happy and above all standing on His word!  God bless you and command your day!!! Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn. -Matthew 13:30 Good morning and happy hump day to you!  As children of God living in these last days it is imperative that we know the difference between wheat and the tare.  To the untrained eye, wheat and tare are the same. They’re both the same color, the same shape, and they grow in the same ground. To my understanding you could ground them both into flour and make bread with both. But when it comes down to eating the wheat will make bread that’s pleasant to you, while the tare will make bread that will literally poison you.   And though it is important to know the difference between the wheat and the tear, it is not our job at harvest to separate out the tear from among the wheat. The final disposition of the tare is at the hands of the Lord and His reapers....

  Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD;  therefore I shall not slide.  -Psalms 26:1 Good morning and tremendous Tuesday to you! The scripture above begins a crying out to the Lord from David. The further you read it shows him asking for a godly examination.  David speaks of his integrity which is translated as faithfulness to doing that which is right. The further you read you are able to ascertain how valuable it is to walk in the truth of the Lord.  Not just examining the walk if others as a way of ladling criticism but seeking to live your own life before the most Holy God.  As David begins to wrap up the introduction, verse 8 speaks of a place in the Lord. That place is not just our heavenly home but    references being in the presence of God at all times.   I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: -2 Timothy 4:7 Good morning and happy Monday to you!  The Apostle Paul was reaching the end of his earthly ministry and saw his demise on the horizon.  One may ask how he could seem so unconcerned about what the future held? And this is not to say he didn’t trust in the Lord; after all he wrote to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord and other scriptures that attested to his certainty of destination, but that pertained to his spiritual destination.  But Paul yet knowing the impact of his ministry only scratched at the surface of the millions his    God inspired words would bring to Christ. It was all because of his determination to operate.   For God shows no partiality. -Romans 2:11 Good morning and TGIF!     The scripture here in the original KJV says God is not a “respecter” of persons. Often we forget or omit the truth of what the scripture means.  Is it God has created a being in His image and He is now unsaying “Very Good”? No God forbid.    God doesn’t have to show us respect especially given our flesh nature which is in perpetual rebellion, and it is not our flesh that He respects, it is the spirit.  In case you need a definition of what our flesh does and why God is not a respecter, please refer to what is written about the flesh and it’s work in Gal 5:19-21.  Then those works demand we respect it (hence the cultural things of today, wanting sanction). God doesn’t show favor to the things in our flesh that demands respect.   A Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, -2 Peter 1:2 Good morning and terrific Thursday to you!  As I was reading the above scripture a truth leaped off the page at me. That truth is Brother Peter captured the undeniable nature of God who provides those things which we need to survive this age.  Who doesn’t need more grace and more peace. We literally are sustained in this present world by those things. Taking a look at this world through a heart and mind not kept by Christ is an extremely dangerous thing.  For to see this world in its current state without knowing who holds our tomorrows would result in a state of hopelessness. Who is like unto thee, O LORD, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? -Exodus 15:11 Good morning and happy hump day to you!  The scripture above is often called the song of Moses. The song was written after the Lord had parted the Red Sea and Israel had safely crossed.  The prophet Moses began to reflect back up on the things that God had done in order to bring his people out of bondage. The first 10 scriptures describe the parting of the Red Sea and the drowning of pharaohs army. And after that description Moses was inspired to say who is like our God? Moses wrote those words to reflect his current situation, can we not all find a moment in time whereas God has moved so mightily we’re inspired to say the same thing, who is like our God?  Beloved no matter how great your faith; never lose your awe of God. Because when you lose that you began to take God for granted and allow his great works to be considered common. ...

Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. -Isaiah 55:2 Good morning and tremendous Tuesday to you! The beautiful scripture above is almost “Solomonistic” in terms of the value of the wisdom that it speaks.  On the surface it seems that food is the subject, but a simple tasting reveals deeper applications.  The Lord in referring to an old testament scripture in Deuteronomy saying that men should not live by bread alone teaches us that what we place value on may not have as much intrinsic value as we think. Which it in no way implies that we do not have a need for nutrition, but it is a matter of the value placed upon the substance.   We must always assess the items that we place value on and in doing so we can see the gems of loneliness that suffer from our lack of attention.   God bless you and...

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: -Ecclesiastes 3:1  Good morning and TGIF! The scripture above from the old sage Solomon is a confession and a guiding principle.  A confession as Solomon had grown away from the Lord and allowed carnality to reign in his life and a guiding principle as he shared what he had learned while in failure.  Our many lessons from Solomon do not come from someone who has not experienced life outside holiness. That scripture of course is “No weapon formed…”. But the scripture leading to it gives us pause to the power of our God.  In the scripture we marvel because the God of all is just that…so weapons that are formed are formed by things which God created and still has control over.  That said I propose the identity of the smith is none other than self. The word smith denotes an artisan who has master a given trade. But like any other smith, they take the raw material and make the end product but the material is provided by a distributor.  The distributor is the enemy. Politics and preferences, fears and more drive many day to day decisions.  Given all the talking heads in Washington DC, Hollywood and the many sports stars, if one doesn’t have a moral compass they’d find themselves falling on the wrong side of righteousness. When faith is based on purely tangible things then it is not the faith that God requires.  I remember talking to someone who was agnostic at best and they quipped “show me God”, to which I began pointing out things such as flowers, the sun, the moon and a new born baby.   “Yes I can see these things, but what evidence of the unseen provides proof?”  At that very moment they sneezed and quickly explained the pollen in the air. I recall the story of a man who partitioned his life. He had areas that he readily invited the Lord with open arms, but as well he had certain rooms with Jesus do not enter posted.  He prayed for a closer relationship and that night he dreamed.    In the dream he stood before God looking at a time line video of his life.  The video was very high quality throughout except certain places were bleary. In those times he realized they were during periods he directed his own path. He also took note that in every time of indecision, pain and uncertainty that he invited Jesus he was restored peace, hope, joy and direction....

Every now and then we all take a look at this great big ball of confusion and say “Lord, how long?” It could be more than the normal moral decay of values, but things such as fashion, trends or etc. I for one use social media but I am not what you would call a strong advocate for it. It is entertainingly destructive. I’ll just call how I feel, “my groaning”.  Most parents have a groan. That point of exasperation when you have raised and corrected then as that child is grown you begin to warn and advise.  😉 .   For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. -Romans 8:6 Good morning and terrific Thursday to you!  To be carnally minded speaks of not only thoughts but every thought, which become words and words which become action.  As often as we’ve all said that life and death resides in the tongue, the scripture above points to that which engages and presses the tongue into action, the mind.  Beloved, thought life is the point of formation of the things which the tongue speak. It knows it must fall to the ground, be buried, die in the ground to open up its treasure that result in abundance.  This is order and adhering to it is expected because it is decent. Not adhering to what naturally should happen results indecent disorder.  The Chief Logistician of the universe does things in order to include how and who He blesses. There was a purpose in blessing Jacob the younger over Esau. The phrase above (decency and in order) is often misunderstood in terms of how organized God is. To first organize the world with all its required must happens, the sun, moon, oxygen, man having dominance. It took a well thought out plan that is still effective to this day.  To “redo” the world after the flood,  to feed Israel in the desert, Or the birth of Christ, the when, the where, the actors are orchestrated by a God who is a great planner. The coming of Holy Spirit at the time, place and circumstances He came into.  Now consider how much thought went into those few events and given this same God said I will never leave you or forsake you, God has a plan for you and will look over His word to fulfill the great work began.  God bless you and command your day!!!   If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. -John 8:36 Good morning and happy Independence Day to you! As a young boy I always referred to this day as “the 4th”. In fact I am not sure if I knew the official name. In what was almost like an acknowledgement that freedom was declared but not realized by all until many years later.  And then that freedom may be physical, but true freedom is spiritual. No man is free unless he has been freed from the penalty of sin and death.  A man who is known to have committed a crime will eventually be found. While not in custody is he really free, indeed? It is a matter of time before he is found and that freedom is gone.   But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him. -Habakkuk 2:20 Good morning and TGIF! As a young boy I would recite this scripture over and over in my head, trying to imagine the place where God dwelled. What color were the walls, what does His throne look like and just everything that pertained to the glorious aesthetics of the place of God’s dwelling.  Normally when this scripture came    to mind was when the weather was stormy. Thunder, lightning, and high winds. In particular I had been told “The Lord is doing His work, so sit down and shut up”.  I adhered as times were different then and not immediately adhering had its own hazards. I know they told us then and some were not correlating the significant and necessity of reverencing God.
