Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. -Matthew 5:13 God bless and gets all the glory! The Lord has been keeping me in the beatitudes as given in the sermon on the mount.  For years I wondered the significance of salt in that passage until I discovered that salt was an element used in worship at the temple. See Lev 2:13 The Prophet Ezra in Ezra 7 was prescribed unlimited salt by the pagan King Artaxerxes for the purpose of worship. This signifies that in the ancient world it was known that the God of Israel desired salt.    So Jesus referring to the disciples of that day and Christians today as salt comes as no surprise. Simply because real worship must have a pleasing flavor and aroma to God.  In the world today Christians must work so that worship remains authentic and not watered down by the...
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. -Hebrews 11:6 Good morning and God bless you. The gallery of faith found in Hebrews 11 has always been an encouragement to me. It contains all the evidence and witnesses that documents God’s faithfulness.  We are often told to have faith in God especially during trying times. Why does faith please God; simply because our faith is an indication that we were created in His image. Without faith, your blessing lack, because lack and faithless are room mates.    So God expects faith but doesn’t expect anything the He hasn’t been. Over the eons God has been faithful to mankind and even more faithful to those that are faithful to Him.  As the young folks say, as it pertains to the scripture above, “I am gonna leave it right there...” Your comments and questions are welcome. Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. -Matthew 28:20 Good morning and God gets all the glory. I was thinking on the Lord this morning and the scripture above came to me. It is one that has given me such comfort on this long walk of faith which has many ups, downs and changes.  I kinda giggle though every time I hear it because some friends have used it to justify not flying (lo, I’ll be with you), and some on why they are going to stay saved (lo temperature).  But my joy is fulfilled knowing my savior didn’t abandon us after coming to save us. Our hope is rightfully placed in Him as we walk this walk. And wow what a walk the last few months have been.  Yet in spite of it all He is walking with us in the lo’ of the economy, the lo’ of health, the lo’ of peace and the lo valley of despair.   A side note this scripture is found in the last chapte...
How amazing is God’s grace??? For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. -John 3:17 The Lord Jesus came to this world to not condemn us but to show us what righteousness truly is. His mission was multi purposed let me highlight two of those purposes. First we needed an example of righteousness, one conceived without sin, who lived without sinning. Then because of His conception and His sinless life He qualified to be sacrificed. The requirement was too great for corrupt man in the flesh to fulfill.  Now the grace it took just to come into this world and to die for this world...Again I say amazing grace.  Your comments and questions are welcome. 23 1The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever. God bless you and good morning. God is good all the time…Each Tuesday morning at 5:30am we have prayer. Last Tuesday I was woke and pre-praying when a good friend from overseas sent me such an encouraging word that I couldn’t even go back to sleep. In this venue, it would be impossible to summarize but in general, it had to do with adhering to the plan of God for Christians. ...

And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. -Revelation 21:3 In this day and age with so many things going on around us it’s sometimes easy to lose your hope. When we see the innocent slaughtered, when we see immoral values being raised to the highest level.  I recently read part of the LGBQ agenda for entertainment was to include a recognized character in every children’s show within the next five years.  And those things are discouraging to me because it tears at the very fiber of what a family identity should be.  So much so that it brings tears to my eyes seeing the demise of family in my lifetime. Oh yes the burden is great and it is a personal burden with me, but every blood washed believer may have a personal burden that the Lord has placed on them.  Perhaps this is why the script...
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. -1 Corinthians 13:1 Good morning and God bless you. I am somewhat dismayed at the condition of the hearts of some who profess Christ.  Professing him means at all time, not just until someone irks your soul. We have far too many fair weather saints.   The scripture above begins to unravel the clothing many are hiding in. God who gives gifts without repentance, gave to Paul the grip to pull and he pulled effectively.  All of the smoke screens used by the gifted in the body revealed as the wind of holiness blows away the smoke and the heart is revealed.  The first three verses show charitable acts without a charitable heart is mindless self promotion and a reward to self void of godliness.  What is really revealed is that flesh maintains a foothold in the life ofthose described. In our walk the flesh must d...
5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. 7 Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8 It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones. Proverbs 3 Taking Samson to the groomer this morning has turned into quite the adventure. When he gets into the car he surmises quickly the difference between a ride and an appointment.  You would think that either the clicking of his nails on the tile floor and the inability to walk without slipping, or his own smell would make him drag me to the car and not the other way around.  But either way Samson doesn’t see the necessity of grooming. Though the Covid delayed grooming would alleviate many ailments of a dog long overdue for it, he fights me the whole time.  The ride over is filled with pleading. Him pleading not to go and my pleading for h...
7 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry  did enter  into his ears.       8 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth. Good morning and God bless you. In prayer this morning I heard the Lord say and I must paraphrase, the very heavens will shake.   Initially my first thought went to the anger of the Lord being kindled against mankind because of sin, but as I listen more, though God certainly is angry at mankind,  His true anger, His wrath is at the principalities, demons, and evil spirits    that have lead man astray and brought His righteous judgment.  I understood this when verse 7 alludes to God coming when He hears our supplication. (2Chronicles 7:14) Beloved the Lord awaits for the earth (Psalms 8:1)to repent and then He will rapidly come and remove wh...
I said, "I will guard my ways, that I may not sin with my tongue; I will guard my mouth with a muzzle, so long as the wicked are in my presence." -Psalms 39:1 I was reading this chapter of Psalms this morning and got stuck at verse one. The part that caused me to pause is that last stanza. It seemed that the writer put special emphasis on being quiet while around those he surmised were wicked.  As I pondered on it I thought of a phrase I had been told not many years ago that is certainly applicable here.  “Every dog that brings a bone...” so it may have seemed that the psalmist (had to use the word, lol) recognized the extra need to guard his mouth in the presence of certain people.  This is not to negate that you should always guard your heart to protect your tongue, but around certain people this is particularly prudent. The writer further said that when the wicked are present put a muzzle on 😂 .  How many people would we like to muzzle, yet ...
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. -Galatians 5:13 God is good and greatly to be praised. As we approach Independence Day on the morrow, I believe that freedom is not understood, appreciated and liberty is confused with liberality.  Liberal  means you set the rules and the truth you believe is the truth that is convenient to your feeling free to do what you deem right.  Liberty  is based in the rules God has set To understand what liberty truly is, we must accept one rule. That is God made all the rules. The rules to be either in bondage or free are found in obeying Him.  True freedom is found in obedience to the word of God. That obedience draws the spirit of the Lord and lessens the supplications needed for Him to dwell among us.      Be safe, be prayerful and you will be blessed.    Enjoy your holiday.  Yo...
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.                - Proverbs 15:1 Good morning and God bless you!!! Ever consider that it is sometimes the presentation more so than the content.  Take for example that the emphasis on words determine how those words are received.  The moral here is that an answer in truth has validity whether given loudly or...    If the answer can be given without causing the receiver to feel put off then do so. It will benefit us all to be more loving and less combative and confrontational.  Your comments and questions are welcome. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! -Psalms 133:1 Good morning and God be glorified. As a young saint I grew up hearing the scripture above over and over and... It was the go to scripture at event when someone was called to quote a scripture. No matter the event the scripture was appropriate for any and all gatherings.  If the one quoting it really felt it, they would look around the venue making eye contact so that those who were there felt their sincerity and love.  As a young man I didn’t appreciate this scripture as it seemed so over quoted. Because in my unseasoned walk I thought all saved folk lived in such a world; one of peace, civility, humility and joy.  So just like a sunny day in July it wasn’t a shock the love in that place at that moment.  As I grew got licensed and then ordained at each step I began seeing more ungodly fruit among the body.  In my new understanding I began...
