Examining the text to pull out meaning is called an exegesiscal exploration. Found within the text we see are indications that there are seasons in life of hard unthankful work as well as times to benefit.  The caveat is persistency is required. But along with that is a need to be consistent. Persistency speaks of your tenacity of going after the work. While consistency is always doing your best.  So because there is a season of reaping must mean there is a season of sowing but before you sow you must prepare the soil. So contained within the well doing season is clearing, plowing, sowing, watering and tending. All before reaping.  Make sure you work all the facets because if you miss one it can impact or even negate your harvest.   The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. -Psalms 51:17 Good morning and terrific Thursday to you!  In a famous rebuke the prophet Samuel spoke to the first King of Israel saying…Obedience is better than sacrifice.  Simply obedience is a more acceptable sacrifice than burnt offerings. A “broken spirit” is putting humanism in its proper place not in a lofty place above our inner man.  As I’ve written about verse 10 which identifies both flesh and spirit so does the verse above identify both.  The reward of sacrificing to the Lord our hearts and submitting our spirit is how accepting the Lord is of one’s who practice such.  God bless you and command your day!!! The inner man has a deep need to acknowledge something greater than self.  This is proven in the wondering, the constant searching for something which can’t be defined. The men on Mars Hill statue said “To the Unknown God” meaning what they were looking for hadn’t been found. They were looking for contentment that would never be found in idol worship.  David had found the contentment of his heart and called it the joy of salvation. Further he knew being in sin had caused separation from that “joy”.  He wanted restored what was/is lost while in sin.   Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. -Psalms 51:10 Good morning and tremendous Tuesday to you! If there’s a verse in the Bible that is constantly a part of my prayer it is the one above.  In case someone in the back needs to hear it clearly, it is by grace that we are not consumed while in sinful rebellion.  To arrive at the point this scripture infers there is certainly a level of repentance that proceeds the request.    Asking the Lord to create in you a clean heart requires flesh that has been put to death and asking for forgiveness with a contrite heart.  Further did you notice that both the flesh and the spirit is addressed by David. David first spoke of the human heart which is also called the soul. The soulish realm has the greatest impact on the spirit. The grace granted to understand the things of God, His purposes and actions begins with a relationship and certainly a prayer life that incorporates the scripture above.  Where our challenge lie is God uses precipitous timing to reveal what we need to know and when we need to know it.  Giving it to us at once would only crowd out our ability to perceive in our current state.   Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. -John 3:3 Good morning and TGIF! This statement from the Lord was one of the most if not the most revelatory scriptures about the mystery of salvation, at least on our part.  The Lord did every step required to prepare the meal and place it on the table before us, we then bring our appetite to consume it.  Being born again is a spiritual birth that’s afforded to us all, yet the process of birth is not cheated spiritually. It all begins with desiring, then seeking, and once found turning your heart to be birthed.  The process is similar to a physical birth and your womb time spent surprisingly the same way. The scripture above is echoed in John 6:68 as Simon Peter responded to the Lord Jesus when He asked would the disciples depart as others.  You know Peter stood saying that no one had the words of life but Christ. In difficult situations we must hold this truth even closer as so much competes for our faith.  The original writer is said to have been a scribe of not many means. He as we do see others who pervert truth, steal, lie and more but yet they seem to have all they want in the materialistic spectrum.  We serve but it seems we struggle more than most. Beloved understand that the enemy presents those lives to us as the painted side of the fence. The spirit of offense is a real thing. If you really think about it, the spirit you can see hiding in its bushes is the manipulative spirit called pride.  The flesh wants us to compare ourselves to others hence the villainy of social media. Our place is not to self promote, but to always keep our flesh in check. The scripture above tells us not to attempt to achieve success by violence or by pulling others down to boost self. The reciprocal nature of God is so amazing. The crux of this scripture attests to this immutable truth.  When we please the Lord, our life honors Him and honor gives Him joy. That joy gives us strength to continue to give Him honor… Nehemiah served King Artaxerxes I and he understood how bringing joy became strength. Simply if this King wasn’t pleased with you, he would often separate your head from your body.  Given his servanthood to this earthly King and knowing the King of King, how much more would his service be given.  Though we all strive to serve the Lord not for just the benefits but out of love, there will certainly remain those inherent unearned as well as reciprocal benefits....

The thing that pops out every time I read this scripture is how it begins.  Have you noticed that many misquote it? Instead of saying “Who”, they say “What”. The who is important because it identifies our adversary and the things he uses to frustrate us and fool us into thinking the Lord doesn’t care and has abandoned us.  The Apostle Paul uses those adjectives to discredit the lies of abandonment that we are told.  Beloved, listing out those things gives us a glimpse into the methodology/play book of our adversary. The last part of this scripture captured my attention after writing about it on yesterday. “I shall not be moved”.  This declaration is based in the resolve of David not to allow himself to be distracted. When we have a made up mind not to leave scripture backs us saying we cannot be “plucked” out of the hand of God!  The Apostle Paul stated it this way saying, NOTHING CAN SEPARATE US. God being the same today, etc doesn’t renege or move from His promises, He is not slack.  So stand on and in His word and you shall be like a tree planted by a river with deep roots!   Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: WE WAIT FOR LIGHT, but behold OBSCURITY; for brightness, BUT WE WALK IN DARKNESS. -Isaiah 59:9 Good morning and happy hump day to you!  A man who waits for the light to come on without lighting a candle or flipping the switch will be settled in darkness. Until the switch is hit or the candle lit then more grace will not be applied. Grace is representative of light.  Isn’t it frustrating seeing someone waiting for a change but not effectively working towards it? Having no light makes your surrounding obscure to your vision.  Further seeking light without applying the principles of light puts into question your resolve to change. The first part of the scripture is a double edge sword providing a glimmer of hope on both ends while also pronouncing judgment in the same places.  People cry out for justice but are living an unjust life. Further as they cry for an unmerited extension of grace, they flaunt disgraceful habits and ungodly morals before the Lord.  Similar to the servant forgiven of much but holding his fellow servant to a higher standard for a lot less.  God graciously uses a phrase that deals with those who seek undeserved grace as well as those whom He grants grace unbeknownst to them.   God bless you and command your day!!! Some scriptures sum up things that are often hard to communicate. In this instance not only does this scripture sum up things, the entire chapter does.  It captures the grace of God while dispensing justice; whilst at the same time reminding us God is not mocked by lukewarm carnality.  Rather blunt for a Monday morning but a necessity in the stage we are at in this dispensation. And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, -Luke 8:43 Good morning and terrific Thursday to you!while meditating this morning I noticed a pattern in the healing ministry of the Lord recorded in scripture.  In most cases of Jesus healing, the receiver came to, was carried to, or He was invited to see them.  The pattern is action on the behalf of someone with a need and when they brought the need before Jesus He never disappointed. Reading the story the scripture above comes from show that she had heard of Jesus, and having heard, had come to have faith in His ability to heal her.  It doesn’t escape observation that she covertly attempted to get her healing. Yet nonetheless she brought her problem to the problem solver as is the pattern.  Several times He asked some will they be made whole?   When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him; -Luke 14:8 Good morning and happy hump day to you! Humility!The power of being humble is so underrated.  In the parable above the Lord cautions us to not be so high minded that when we are called to take a lower position, we can still do so with dignity.  A companion scripture in Proverbs instructs us that Pride surely comes before the fall (Prov 16:18). And pride itself is the same reason for the fall of Satan.  Alternatively the power of humility is given us by James (4:10). The battle of Monday has subsided and so comes the new challenges of today.  It is an amazing time that we live in. As the prophecy of Matthew 24 unfolds not hidden from our eyes. That said it can all be daunting. Hearts not embolden in His love will not embrace the truth of His sovereignty and react as those without faith.  The Lord brought this scripture to mind as I listened to Him this morning. Further He wanted me to encourage people by reminding them of the words spoken to Gideon.  God doesn’t just see you where you have been, where you currently are but also where He knows you will be. God spoke to a man who was hiding the subsistence of his family from a devouring enemy, one who looked anything but valiant.  God told him who he was meant to be. Does Monday always seem like the start of a new battle in the war for our faith? To me it seems the enemy begins a new offensive on Mondays. He uses from family to friends, to work.  Cast against the believer are new devils, new tricks, new snares. From getting up to start the week, children fight going back to school, our flesh fights going back to work. When we get up something always not quite right, what we planned to wear not easily found, breakfast burned or disagreements.  That just trying to get out the door. Then traffic is extra irritating on Mondays….those challenges before you get to the job.   But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; -Romans 10:8 Good morning and TGIF! Faith incorporated    into your life allows the word to be at the ready no matter the circumstance. The proceeding scriptures are an ovation to the plan of God and it’s effectiveness.  The divine plan of God used the Jews for the presentation of Christ yet though He came through them, He was still purposed for and came for all.  Salvation is a reward of faith and accepting this precious gift is tied to confession. Simply because faith comes to and through your ears. In contrast fear travels the same path.  What you hear you think about and over time your thinking effects your belief system.   Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. -Isaiah 41:10 Good morning and happy hump day to you!  “Faith is the beginning of deliverance. Fear is the beginning of bondage.”  A few years back the Lord spoke this to me. As a matter of fact it was during a rather dark period. I was under a lot of stress and He had me teaching about deliverance during that time period.  While teaching on deliverance I noted I had allowed fear to creep close. The instructions found in the scripture is to encourage us to trust the Lord during the storm.  What derails most from their purpose is they lose trust right before they are walking out of the storm.    The threshold is within view but fear is blocking the view.  Beloved trust the Lord throughout the process of forming, raging and the ending of every storm.   God bl...
