Wisdom cries aloud in the street, in the markets she raises her voice; at the head of the noisy streets she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks:                       -Proverbs 1:20-21 God bless you and terrific Tuesday! I have been reading in the proverbs about wisdom. Wisdom is so much more than education. I’ve often seen the very educated do the most unseemly things.  The more I read about the wisdom of the old sage Solomon the more it would seem that he was a king with prophetic insight.  Yes it was God who allowed him wisdom but another element which made him wise were mistakes. We know of David’s Bathsheba, but do we know that Solomon had 700 wives and concubines?  And to please them he had taken up idol worship. Although he did return to truth as he aged and in his return, he brought back more wisdom.  As Solomon did we will make mistakes but as Solomon wrote in Proverbs 24:16, g...
4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.   5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.                             -Mark 2 God bless you and HAPPY MONDAY!!! I was reading the scripture above and I thought of just how important it is to have faithful friends.  In the story the scripture is found, four faithful friends go the extra mile to get their friend to who they believed would heal him. And in doing so…they literally tore the roof off a building… In their reasoning they felt that if they could get their friend in the proximity of Jesus that would bring a bought a healing. The story didn’t say but who knows how far they had carried their lame friend on that day or how many years before they h...
And Moses said, Let no man leave of it till the morning. -Exodus 16:19 Good morning and TGIF! I pray everyone had a wonderful feast on yesterday.    And I for one look forward to all the leftovers.  Leftovers in themselves are not a bad thing but the mindset when preserving, setting aside and planning may be.  When your mindset is based on fear, uncertainty and mistrust is an indication you have crossed over from faith to fear.  In the chapter which the scripture above originates, the Lord was training Israel to depend totally on Him and some were failing miserably.  Verse 18 shows that no matter how much manna gathered, lack didn’t come to those who gathered little while those who gathered more than enough had no abundance.  If verse 18 wasn’t enough of a warning, in verse 20 worms developed in the manna left over from the prior day.    God is saying trust me.  To drive home His point that He is all sufficient God allowed what ha...
Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God. -Matthew 5:9 Happy pre thanksgiving, hump day, and good morning. Blessed are the peacemakers! How appropriate to think on peace before the day set aside for being thankful but serves as a day of many disruptions of family peace.  The Lord knows how important peace is to our walk. Lack of peace distracts us from growing and helping others to grow in grace.  Peace is at the center of God’s grace whilst frustration, fear, apprehensions and doubt only serve outside and strongly opposes grace.  On this day I employ you to not let anything steal your peace!  Your comments and questions are welcome.   Therefore they enquired of the LORD further, if the man should yet come thither. And the LORD answered, Behold, he hath hid himself among the stuff. -1 Samuel 10:22 Good morning and Terrific Tuesday to you.  Masks isn’t a favorite topic of many today. Some think it for the best, some say it is an infringement upon individual rights but what both sides agree on is the it is such an inconvenience.  Saul the King is somewhat in agreement with both sides but with an extra dose of fear added, he hid among “the stuff”. Dare I say we all have stuff that either we are hiding amongst or have hidden before in our past. Not everyone has the same story so their stuff may be different.  The literal translation of stuff used in the word of God is rarely used in a good way. Stuff often is seen when someone is not fully submitting to the Lord. God doesn’t want us to remain in our stuff, and He shines His light to help us find the way out.  One of my wife’s favorite scripture ...
11And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:  12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.                  -2 Thessalonians 2 God bless you and happy Monday! Years ago I remember watching a documentary of how a pilot can become so disoriented that they can literally be flying upside down and not be aware.  This is due to visual impairment, not having a point of reference your internal gyroscope is thrown into a tizzy. This is called spatial disorientation (SD).  I often think of the syndrome when I see people who call right, wrong, who have an identity crisis calling a male a female and so forth. Even Christians who try to convert by fear and intimidation the lost.  In Christendom the closes thing to SD is a reprobate mind. The scripture above speaks of God helping you remain disoriented. When you have reached that poi...
And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead. -Acts 20:9 God bless you, good morning and TGIF. There is a fallacy in the body of Christ, where people are more concerned with the delivery than the item delivered.  Imagine waiting for that one Amazon order that you can’t live without and though you have PRIME it still takes what seems forever to get that treasure.  The day of delivery and wouldn’t you know it there is a great storm blowing, but despite the rain you wait and track, track and wait.  Finally you hear the sound of the truck pulling up and of course observe the delivery person. As they get out of their they drop the package in the yard.  Immediately you react opening the door      and usher in the delivery man while leaving the package outside.   It seems inconceiva...
I n the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth " (Genesis 1:1) Good morning and Terrific Thursday to you. Ever put more than a glancing thought toward the scripture above? The scripture speaks of a beginning of what we know as creation.  But conspicuously hidden is the beginning of who created everything. All things have an origination except God and all things have a cycle to exist in.  So to even consider that plants go from seed to plant, human relationships have a beginning and an end, storms have a beginning and an end, natural life has…but even those things didn’t come before God and will not exceed God! It is such an awesome blessing that you can take the finite to the Infinite, that which has a cycle in time can be taken to He who holds time in His hand. Take it all to the Lord!   But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. -James 1:22 Good morning, happy hump day and blessings of the Lord on you!  Situational Saints, Crisis Christians are phrases used to describe we who want God on our own terms. We want the benefits but not the obedience and therefore neglect our “reasonable service”. The Bible tells us in no uncertain terms how God reviews those who show little commitment to him. God is not mocked, you sow, you reap, if you sow 50 bags of corn seed but one bag of tomato seed why would you expect an abundance of tomatoes?  Who doesn’t like a good sermon? Even those who are convicted in their hearts love a good sermon, they will say ouch but continue doing what they said ouch about.    They are hearers.  Hearers will give you the appearance of listening, nodding, smiling, and even repeating what you said, but being a hearer only doesn’t provide for salvation.  There is nothing wrong with list...
Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. -Psalms 37:1 God bless you and Tremendous Tuesday to you! Living saved offers both joy and also heartache. The joy of knowing that we have already won is countered by those who haven’t learned yet.  So sometimes our smile is reversed by what others do either directly to us, towards our love ones and the deeper your relationship with the Lord, you hurt when people sin towards their own demise.  To this the comforting words given through David tells us to not “spin our wheels”, caught in the mired efforts of others.  But further we are told to not look on with envy seeing the results of their ways, prospering at the detriment of others.  This can be applied from the lowest street thug to celebrities, to politicians. Never desire I’ll gotten gain because it offers sorrow to the recipient and those who disciple themselves after them.  We replace fret with peace and...
Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee. -1 Kings 17:9 God bless you, good morning and HAPPY MONDAY! It seems everywhere we look today poverty’s grip has taken hold.  Poverty is no stranger to mankind then as it is familiar to us now. Many who are gripped in it allow its crushing weight to prevent their going forth.  The prophet Elijah encountered a woman who was being crushed and had given up, but somehow she had faith enough to trust God on the word of the prophet.  Elijah having faith was no surprise, but the faith of the woman had to rise to the occasion and God in His grace stepped down from glory to meet her faith and to supply her need.  Many are like the widow about to give up but I want to encourage you to hold on for your word.  Your issue may not be poverty, it may be health problems, it may be relationships, depression or something else, but the same ...
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. -Isaiah 26:3 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. -Philippians 4:7 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. -Psalms 1:2 God bless you and TGIF. Praise God for peace. Never take it for granted and let it be foundational in your life.  One common theme in all the scriptures above is peace is intertwined with mindset.  The Apostle Paul towards the end of his life in a well know set of scriptures wrote of meditating on things which encourage us (Phil 4:8). The extensive list of things were attributable values of God.   In order to have peace, your mind must not be allowed to wonder loosely. It is not by chance Paul encourages us to “bring every thought into captivity”(2 Corinthians 10:5), because our thought life shapes our world and will have us in ...
But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. -Matthew 13:23 Good morning, Happy Veterans Day. The scripture above is a call to examine what I call your soil. There are two soils in general. The soil of His word and the soil of the world.  We must strive to dig deep in His good soil. The soil of the world offers a depth and we being in and not of this world, must have an understanding of the worlds soil, akin to looking into the well but not jumping in.  Know there is a depth but don’t get too deep. There is a depth so deep that you can’t hear the voice of God in the soil of this world.    It isn’t the depth, but it is the soil of of this world points to self. When you are so into the worlds soil, you began believing your own press and concerned about pleasing others. Each point takes you deeper into the soil of self....
Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the LORD your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you." -Deut 31:6 Good morning and happy hump day. Can you reflect back over your life and find a moment where God was not being good?  No, how about a place where you felt all alone? No, of course not while you were trudging forward God cheered you from the sideline, beckon you from the front, set the pace beside you and pushed you from behind, after all He is omnipresent and is able to be at all place at the same time.  An example is found in the poem or short story “Footprints in the sand”.    The author thought that in the frames where only one set of prints were shown, it was because of abandonment, but unknown to them those prints were of God who carried them when they fell.  Many times we feel as if we are in this alone, but the sovereign God we serve commands His angels and nature itself to conform its natura...
Then the king answered and said, Give her the living child, and in no wise slay it: she is the mother thereof. -1 Kings 3:27 Good morning and terrific Tuesday to you.  Ever notice that a lie speaks loud and tries to force its self into the place of truth, but try as it may truth doesn’t allow it room.  In the story that the above scripture is found. One mother had no regard for the child as hers was dead and she had replaced hers with the living child. Solomon to uncover the truth put them to a test.  As soon as he had spoke to split the child in two, the real mother calmly spoke saying to give the child to the mother of the deceased child.  She would rather the child live, whereas the other mother vigorously advocated for the Kings command to be carried out.  The other mother was loud, unkind, lacked compassion and was lying. It seems that when someone is lying they will become those for-mentioned things.  But truth speaks steadily and if truth is a...
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. -1 Peter 5:7 God bless you and happy Monday. As the new week dawns and we settle into the time shift from yesterday, the burden of merely existing may seem to be larger than we can bear and trying to carry the load alone is truly more than we can.  If we can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens us, we are given the strength to heartily lift the burden just enough to cast it on Him.  Many cast their cares toward Him in their complaint but rarely do they leave the cares with Him. Many secret back to the altar to retrieve that care. But the casting is not meant to be a temporary thing but permanently.  Part two of the scripture above reminds us of His love as He wants the burdens because they are those things which take our focus off the promises of God. So cast your cares and leave them with the Lord.  Your comments and questions are welcome. Contact me at: drschaefferinterceding@yahoo.com You ...
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: -Ephesians 4:12 God bless you and TGIF! Ever feel weary of perfect people. You know them, they always have the answer and never is their answer wrong, well in their delusional world they are perfect, lol.  But I for one own up to the flaws which the Lord is working on. Yes Holy Spirit resides in me but other things lurk around this flesh. Paul said when I would do right (Rms 7:21)…His reference is to the busy work of our enemy as he roves looking for cracks in our armor.  Oh how much more difficult a job the perfecting is when we do not put the armor on…But even in our many faults He sees our needs, so do not get discouraged because He is not done with you yet.  There is a song that says God is not done with you yet. That means He is working His good pleasure and shaping you for this day and beyond.  Lastly only Christ was perfect which is not a license to s...
Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; -Hebrews 6:19 Good morning beloved, God bless you and welcome to “Terrific Thursday”.    Sometimes it seems that this world, our world is in the midst of a great storm.  Instead of cats and dogs, it’s raining wolves and lions and the objects swirling around in the wind are not leaves and dust but full trees and mountains. Morality seems to be in free fall and cold hearts displayed as murder is unrestricted, fathers killing instead of protecting their families. Mothers getting abortions as one would a pedicure.  And the worst of the winds and rain of depravity is yet to come. In such a soup sandwich of a world the one thing that should keep us grounded is the reliability of Jesus.  The scripture above advises us to draw closer, to shore up our lines and keep watch over the surety of anchor.   When your hope is in the Lord then you ar...
