4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
-Mark 2
God bless you and HAPPY MONDAY!!!
I was reading the scripture above and I thought of just how important it is to have faithful friends.
In the story the scripture is found, four faithful friends go the extra mile to get their friend to who they believed would heal him. And in doing so…they literally tore the roof off a building…
In their reasoning they felt that if they could get their friend in the proximity of Jesus that would bring a bought a healing. The story didn’t say but who knows how far they had carried their lame friend on that day or how many years before they had carried him.
How many in your circle would go to such extremes? How many not only pray for you, but will come to your rescue and carry you to a place that you have need of?
Many loosely and unwisely widen their circle in order to be more inclusive. Even the Lord in examples exclaimed we must be cautious of who we allow in our inner circle.
We may get along with most and be familiar with many, even call some acquaintances and even fewer friend, but their is a friend that is closer than a brother. Choose wisely.
