We need the power provided by Holy Spirit and we must yield to receive it.  Take the windmill, it responds/yields in two parts, first it stops as the prevailing wind beckons. Beloved remember, a complete stop from the previous direction is required before you move in the power and direction that Holy Spirit is calling. Holy Spirit will meet you at your point of yielding.  The first part we Christians tend to do well. We stop…We set the brakes, put out the anchor, our pliability becomes rigidified. The Lord is calling for us to harken which means to stop, listen, understand direction, and even if we don’t understand the whys, and then take action or using that power. Just as windmills yield to the wind in three ways, we too should yield to the Spirit in similitude. The initial yield involves unlocking the blades, allowing the wind to set them in motion. Similarly, disobedience and neglect of the Spirit's guidance can lead to our own spiritual damage, much like the wind breaking the blades. To fulfill our godly responsibilities, we must be open to change and not be bound by tradition or the fear of others' opinions. Recently, while immersed in the Bible, I found inspiration in a passage emphasizing the potency of righteousness. Joshua received several directives from the Lord, urging him to embody courage, strength, and adherence to the law. The intertwining of strength and courage was highlighted, illustrating that strength is crucial for undertaking courageous deeds and defending one's actions. Joshua's strength was cultivated through observing and ministering to Moses, empowering him to courageously claim the Promised Land with Caleb. This strength and courage were evident throughout the forty years of wandering. As the scripture now reflects on Moses' passing, it serves as a reaffirmation of the lessons Joshua ...

Found in both Psalms 107, and Psalms 136, is an exclaimed scripture of thanks. The thanks is modified in the adjective type of emphasis using the word Oh!   Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. -John 17:17  Salvation+Modification=Sanctification!  Good morning and happy hump day to you!  Sanctification is a transformative process that beckons us to become increasingly Christ-like. Holiness is not inherent at birth; only One has been born holy. Achieving holiness through personal efforts is unattainable; works alone cannot make you holy.  After salvation, we are to grow in grace, that is actively investing time in our relationship with the Lord and our walk or interaction    of faith. After the confession of Christ comes growing in grace. The Apostle Peter was inspired to write out of what I’d call his personal testimony.  He was recognized for his fiery temper, which only subsided when he encountered the risen savior, teaching him the importance of temperance. This experience emphasized the significance of ongoing growth after initial salvation to transition from a convert to a disciple.   While recently meditating I heard salvation+modification=sanctification. That middle ground being modification, is your actions have to contribute to that needed change.  Salvation is the initial conversion whilst modification is the growth required to achieve discipleship, and disciples are soul winners. As we know being born of the sin seed of Adam certainly has its disadvantages.  Without the nourishment of the Spirit's water, being born with an unyielding seed condemns us to eternity apart from the Lord. The journey to sanctification begins with a receptive heart, a grace that may be obscured, as mentioned by Christ in John 12:40. The receiving heart allows the confession of our mouths unto salvation. Culture always has and always will disagree with holiness, it’s like a house divided that will not stand.  The scriptures above has the Apostle proposing a question of how to handle conflicts between societal beliefs and godly principles. Though the Lord will not tell you what color to like, what car to drive, and many other things that allow diversity and preferences, it is not for a moment thought that life would be without conflict.  The offerings of society are many but not every offering contributes to holiness. This principle holds significance in various life situations, especially when facing adversity.  Jabez is believed to have lived during a tumultuous period in Israel, possibly in the late Judge or early kingship era marked by significant turmoil and warfare. Several generations after Joshua's declaration of dedicating his household's service to the Lord, Jabez emerged as a man who clearly recognized the power of prayer in maintaining well-being, both spiritually and naturally. Imagine hearing your entire life that you not just caused pain but you are pain.  Here we have a virtual unknown who captures the heart of God with a plea. His plea was based in humility and resulted the Lord blessing him INDEED.  Beloved in the Sermon on the Mount the Lord Jesus stated the meek or the humble shall inherit the earth (blessings and substances). Not with lip service nor pretentious acts but with your whole heart.  As we survey the world today compare it to prophecy of old that warns us of society in the last days. The prophet writes for the Lord admonishing the people to learn and walk in the way of the Lord!  As the plea goes forth, the resistance increases thusly.   But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. -Genesis 19:26 Good morning and happy Monday to you! We are often told the benefit of reflection but that there is a right way to reflect and a wrong way. In this story the wife of Lot looked back and become a human salt-sicle.  A wrong reflection is pulled up only to share of the grace of God in testimony, whilst reminiscing is to look back longing for what was. This type of wrong reflection is binding, staggering, and growth is hindered!  Having been told to flee the city and not to look back is tantamount to there being a reason to never reminisce about what may be past sin.  Beloved oftentimes many want to hold on to past memories for popularity sake, self esteem, or many other reasons.
