And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested. -1 Chronicles 4:10
Good morning and terrific Thursday to you!
In challenging times, seeking guidance from the Lord is a valuable approach. This principle holds significance in various life situations, especially when facing adversity.
Jabez is believed to have lived during a tumultuous period in Israel, possibly in the late Judge or early kingship era marked by significant turmoil and warfare.
Several generations after Joshua's declaration of dedicating his household's service to the Lord, Jabez emerged as a man who clearly recognized the power of prayer in maintaining well-being, both spiritually and naturally.
Unfortunately, the era of such profound understanding and commitment appears to have faded, with many individuals failing to grasp the link between their life decisions and the resulting hardships.
Nevertheless, the same God who had his hands upon Jabez, who directed his path, and thus “enlarged” his territory is the same God who will and does do the same thing now!
