And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. -1 Chronicles 4:9


Good morning and happy hump day to you! 

The scripture above serves as an inspiration to not allow personal circumstances to trump achievement. 


Named to denote her state of mind or conditions under which he was born, she memorialize his impact by naming him in honor of her pain. Imagine hearing your entire life that you not just caused pain but you are pain. 


Here we have a virtual unknown who captures the heart of God with a plea. His plea was based in humility and resulted the Lord blessing him INDEED. 


Beloved in the Sermon on the Mount the Lord Jesus stated the meek or the humble shall inherit the earth (blessings and substances). So Jabez a man whose name is as obscure as his mention with the power of sincere askance moved the heart of almighty God.

His mission had multiple purposes, and I will highlight two of them. First, we needed an example of righteousness—someone conceived without sin and who lived a sinless life.
