THEREFORE IS JUDGEMENT far from us, neither doth JUSTICE OVERTAKE US: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness. -Isaiah 59:9

Good morning and happy Monday to you!   The opening of this scripture acts as a double-edged sword—offering a glimmer of hope on both sides, yet delivering judgment in those very same places.

People cry out for justice while living in ways that are unjust. They seek unearned grace even as they openly practice habits and uphold morals that are dishonorable in God’s eyes.

It echoes the story of the servant who was forgiven a great debt, yet demanded repayment from another who owed him far less.

God, in His mercy, uses language that speaks to those who seek grace without merit and also to those who receive it without even realizing it.
