Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. -Colossians 3:2


Good morning and happy hump day to you!  Throughout Christ’s earthly ministry, the sentiment reflected in the scripture above was often emphasized. 


During the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 6, Jesus expanded on this idea, teaching that where one’s heart is, there also lies their treasure.


In this light, Paul’s words in verse 1 echo Jesus’ teaching. This repetition carries significant weight—especially in Hebrew tradition, where repeating a point underscores its importance.


When our priorities are out of alignment, it’s only a matter of time before our loyalties follow. Take a moment today to reflect on where you stand and where your true affections lie.
