Now the boy Samuel was ministering to the LORD in the presence of Eli. And the word of the LORD was rare in those days; there was no frequent vision. -1 Sam 3:1

Good morning and happy Monday to you!

My wife and I were recently browsing furniture stores when I noticed a stack of books for sale, all without covers. This struck me as odd, and as we visited another store, we saw bookcases filled with more coverless books, placed haphazardly.

In a third store, we found bookcases with books not only missing their covers but also shelved backwards, bound tightly with twine, making it impossible to identify them without opening them. This reminded me of the saying, "If you want to hide the truth, put it in the pages of a book, because most people won't open it."

For some, reading is just a pastime or a way to stay informed, but for me, it has always been a joy. By the grace of God, reading has been a means to spread understanding of His plan, truth, and hope throughout history. The scripture relevant then speaks to us now. While we rely on devices that need power, I always carry a paper Bible along with my digital devices. If a battery dies, I still have my paper Bible.

There is a movement to ban the Bible, with legal documents already presented in California. This ban began somewhere and will spread subtly through innuendos, suggestions, and normalization at the youngest, most impressionable levels. Wake up!
