When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole? -John 5:6

Good morning and terrific Thursday to you! The scripture's narrative underscores the freedom to accept or reject gifts, notably healing. In contrast to the woman with the issue of blood who sought Christ's virtue, the man in this account offered excuses unrelated to his healing.

The Lord's question was about becoming whole, not the duration of his lameness or the names of those who wouldn't assist. The one with the power to heal asked if he would receive this gift, highlighting how people sometimes cling to what harms them as a sort of security blanket.

When the opportunity for wholeness arises, some opt to retain what causes pain, possibly due to familiarity or a source of sympathy. Beloved believe and receive your wholeness.
