And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child. -1 Samuel 3:8
Good morning and terrific Thursday to you!
What really jumps out at me in the scripture above is not how Samuel didn’t know the voice of the Lord, it is how long it took Eli to recognize that the Lord was speaking to Samuel.
The 1st and 3rd verses here are such a telling sign of just how far the people had gotten away from the Lord. It is understood that Samuel being a child who obviously had not been taught discerning the voice of the Lord, but Eli was the High Priest, the Judge of Israel and certainly should have realize sooner that the Lord was calling the boy.
My question today is how many times must the Lord speak before we know it is Him? As His sheep we must discern His voice. Beloved never allow yourself to become detached and spiritually out of earshot of His voice.
God bless you and command your day!!!
