Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days. -Ecclesiastes 11:1
Good morning and tremendous Tuesday to you! For years I’ve not noticed this scripture. Though I’ve known it, I’ve never really associated it with the Godly attribute of having a charitable heart. Not withstanding the incentive of the scripture below:
He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again. -Proverbs 19:17
But as this walk goes, it came rushing to me while meditating. The casting of the bread means giving to others liberally and the place of giving being “water”, wow!
Water is known for charting its own path and moves in an almost unpredictable way. What is thrown in the water doesn’t often return to the spot it was thrown from.
So to be told cast your bread (substance) on the water (no guarantee of return) speaks of having faith. Faith that charitable-ness, will not be the cause of your lack, giving as unto the Lord will result in overflow.
God bless you and command your day!!!
