9And the LORD thy God will make thee plenteous in every work of thine hand, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, for good: for the LORD will again rejoice over thee for good, as he rejoiced over thy fathers:
10If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul. -Deuteronomy 30
Good morning and TGIF! So...who says favor isn’t fair? The phrase “Favor ain’t fair”caught the evangelical church by storm when Bishop TD Jakes shared it a number of years ago.
Though his intent may not have been this it has become a battle cry to justify what appears to be favoritism of God without purpose towards a given individual or even a group.
Please understand that God is gracious but He is not hoodwinked by lip service and declarations invoking His blessings over forbidden life actions.
But truly God favors obedience and follows His purpose. If God says something shall occur it is within His Will (perfect or permissive) and for His purpose or even our failures, that He will give purpose (Romans 8:28).
God looks after His word because as we have all been told your word (truth etc) is your bond and keeping it shows character. God’s word defines our purpose and we were made for purpose as it was made for us.
Purpose is what you are made for and being obedient to your purpose garners favors and makes it fair.
Go fellowship this weekend, we all need it.
God bless you and command your day!!!
