It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. -Lamentations 3:22


Good morning and happy Monday to you! Simply put God’s grace is amazing. Consider the place the scripture above originates. 


The prophet begins this chapter…well in a lamenterory tone. It is not as much a complaint as it is speaking of the justice of God. 


And then in the middle of his despair of this chapter, he begins to speak of how merciful God he is.  


Honestly and by all rights we should have been consumed. If we deserved anything it is the justice spoken of in this chapter, but instead of what we expected, He gives us unexpected mercy and unmatched grace.

His mission had multiple purposes, and I will highlight two of them. First, we needed an example of righteousness—someone conceived without sin and who lived a sinless life. Next, because of His immaculate conception and sinless existence, He was qualified to be sacrificed. This requirement was too great for sinful man to fulfill.
