I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. -Psalms 40:1

Good morning and God bless you. The middle part of our week is referred to as Hump Day”, as in if we can make it over this Hump we can finish the week strong.

As a kid I remember building ramps to jump bikes; and I use the term build very loosely here, because it was usually a plank laid across a speed bump in our apartments.

I would then align myself 40 to 50 yards away to get a head start and then at break neck, leg, arm and everything speed, I’d come barreling towards the ramp.

I’d paddle as hard as I could up to the point of ascending from the lip of the ramp. Then there is the middle lane of my flight, when I’d not paddle. But right before my tires made contact with the surface I’d begin to paddle furiously again.

Not understanding the importance of “pre-surface paddling”, once I neglected to do so to test the results. Needless to say my unchecked momentum bolstered by gravity proved once again the road surface was stronger than my skin.

From that and many other experiences, I have learned it takes patience to

be patient and it takes time to learn it. And patience like paddling at the right moment is so important.

That said it takes patience to make it not just to hump day but leading up to, through and beyond hump day.

The Psalmist encourages us to practice patience and that our faithfulness is before the Lord having carried our plea, and God being God will not let us down.
