But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, -Luke 10:33

Good morning and happy Monday to you!  The well-known parable of the Good Samaritan holds significant relevance in today’s global culture. During that time, being a Samaritan meant facing deep-seated stereotypes rooted in longstanding religious conflicts.

These prejudices were so entrenched that many Jews would go to great lengths to avoid any association with Samaritans, even refusing to spit on Samaritan land or look into Samaria. Such behavior exemplified an extreme form of discrimination.

However, forming judgments based solely on hearsay or preconceived notions is dangerous. Every individual is entitled to basic human dignity, regardless of their beliefs, appearance, wealth, or any other distinguishing factor.

Even when encountering perspectives that are morally flawed, compassion remains vital. The example set by the Lord emphasizes the importance of showing kindness and understanding while staying true to our principles.
