Good morning and terrific Thursday to you!  

How does peace truly surpass understanding? One way to think about it is that when your understanding transforms into faith, you begin to grasp the essence of peace.


True peace goes far beyond a simple truce, a negotiated agreement, or a treaty. These are conditional arrangements, reliant on the actions, honesty, and intentions of opposing parties, often bound by situational or equal power dynamics.


But our peace is covenant and covenants are not quid pro quo. It isn’t based on a “fair exchange” like a day’s work for a day’s pay. Scripture reminds us that our focus shapes our peace.


When you focus on God, your faith deepens. This increased faith brings greater understanding, which produces godly joy—and it is from this joy that true peace flows.

His mission had multiple purposes, and I will highlight two of them. First, we needed an example of righteousness—someone conceived without sin and who lived a sinless life.
