And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. -Colossians 3:15
Good morning and tremendous Tuesday to you! The passage emphasizes the importance of what governs your heart, which ultimately stems from your thoughts. Whatever occupies your mind—whether it’s hate, hope, uncertainty, faith, fear, courage, peace, or discord—will shape and rule your heart.
If you desire peace to reside in your heart, focus your thoughts on it. Not just any peace, but the peace that comes from God—a peace rooted in His divine authority and assurance.
When God revealed Himself to Moses as “I Am,” or when He spoke creation into existence, it was done with absolute confidence and peace. This same peace allowed Christ to sleep soundly during a raging storm and to calmly command it to be still. He used the word “peace” to bring order and prevent further chaos.
When we align our minds with Christ and embrace our identity in Him, peace becomes our foundation, just as joy and salvation are our inheritance.
