And I Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the king's business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it. -Daniel 8:27

Good morning and TGIF! The story highlights the prophet Daniel, deeply troubled after receiving visions of Israel’s judgment and the nation’s subjugation under the pagan ruler Nebuchadnezzar. The weight of these revelations made him physically ill. Despite his distress and likely not feeling his best, Daniel rose to fulfill his duties to the king.

The lesson here is clear: regardless of how we perceive our circumstances—whether through a spiritual lens or a natural one—we should not allow situations beyond our control to hinder us from completing the tasks we are entrusted with.

As Daniel served the earthly king, he remained mindful that his ultimate service was to the King of Kings. Similarly, we should approach even our secular responsibilities with the mindset of serving Christ through our work.

Go fellowship this weekend, we all need it.
