Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD. -Numbers 31:16
Good morning and happy Monday to you! There is an important lesson in the scripture above that is often overlooked but highly relevant in today's world.
Balaam, knowing he couldn't directly curse the children of Israel, realized they could only curse themselves by turning away from their blessings. He advised the King to lead them astray by encouraging them to sin with Moabite women.
The goal was to cause them to offend God by aligning themselves with sinful practices. Beloved, this is the challenge we face now. The enemy is using things God has declared as sin, and by agreeing with them, we all suffer the consequences.
Some may claim they don't agree, but consider this: when you call a man "her" or a woman "he," you are aligning with a falsehood. This is why there is pressure to conform, with the enemy making you believe there are no consequences and that you are simply being polite.
No…you become a liar because you are spreading, normalizing the lie and the offense draws punishment.
