10 And the Lord came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth.-1 Samuel 3
Good morning and terrific Thursday to you!
Mother’s can recognize their child's voice, even if there are hundreds of voices speaking at once, she can pick out her child's voice from just a word or two.
A child also knows the voice of their mother, after all they heard it almost exclusively nine months before they saw her face. As God's children, we must strive to recognize His voice in the same way.
God often speaks to us, but we can be slow to listen, or our inner thoughts may drown Him out. When we do hear Him, we sometimes respond slowly.
Initially Samuel heard a voice but didn’t recognize the source. Once he understood it was the Lord speaking, he acted promptly and accordingly.
You may not recognize God's voice at first, but the more time you spend focused on Him, the clearer it becomes. One tip is His voice never contradicts His word. There is great blessing in listening closely and responding quickly to His guidance.
