Good morning and terrific Thursday to you! Previously, we discussed Isaiah 61:1, where it's mentioned that the Lord exchanges ashes giving beauty, mourning giving joy, and heaviness giving praise. It's worth considering that this exchange couldn't occur until the exchange on the cross took place. 


Even as those directly involved in the crime were forgiven, the Lord's sacrifice on the cross was necessary for this exchange to happen. 


While our bloodshed would have little impact, His shed blood was given so that ours wouldn't be in vain. Therefore, without this profound exchange, no other exchange could have occurred.
