Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein. -Jeremiah 6:16
Good morning and tremendous Tuesday to you! One phrase that pesters me as a grandparent from new parents is “I am not gonna be (or do) like my parents”.
This is the battle cry from young teens through early parenthood. One that is used to distinguish just how much better a parent they expect to be.
To better oneself is an admirably lofty goal. But to think everything you do will be better, or that nothing your parents did was right is extreme arrogance and will serve to hinder your endeavor.
The scripture above speaks to “remembering” not all things accomplished in your life was of your fruition, mostly it is from the grace of God and parents (village members) that worked to instill values that had you make “good decisions”.
God bless you and command your day!!!
