So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs. -John 21:15
Good morning and happy Monday to you! Imagine if it were you and the Lord pointed toward some fish and asked you if your love was greater for them than for Him? In the same manner when we say we love Him but do not do His will, the question calls us into accountability.
It was crushing for Apostle Peter as it would be for anyone who had their love questioned. Certainly the Lord Jesus knew the answer but it was the action of Peter that was in question.
This was within the 40 days that Christ spent on the earth after the resurrection. Peter a fisherman by occupation returned to that which was before Christ and placed the same BEFORE Him.
Beloved how often have we being discouraged returned to that which though broken, was all we knew…
The Lord reminded Peter of the conversation had in Matthew 4, where he was going to be made into “a fisher of men”. Here he had returned to fishing, well fish.
The question is how deep, how wide, how long, how high is your love and commitment to bringing others to salvation.
God bless you and command your day!!!
