The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me. -John 5:7

Good morning and happy Monday to you! I have studied this story for years trying to identify the voice or the origin of the complaint of the man.

The voice is now clearly that of a victim. The method used is called victimology and it’s goal is to give you a PhD in victimization, that is being proficient and qualified to create other victims. The voice will use your differences, ethnicity, gender, past failures, family’s social economic backstory, etc as the platform to build a stronghold.

The voice of victimology comes from either the spirit of deception, the spirit of depression or the spirit of fear. They will work in concert or independently to steal from you truth, joy, and or peace.

They will even use those close (or not so close) to you to build or repair that stronghold. Let’s call those people enablers.

Your enabler may be a parent, a spouse or a friend. Your enabler may be an enemy, the boss, another co-worker, etc. What they say may sound supportive which you welcome, or critical which you do not.

The man had friends who enabled him to be a victim perhaps telling him every year how unfair it was others wouldn’t allow him in first.

Victimology is used to suppress and depress us. It is like anesthesia to the Lion in you, a cop out and an excuse not to apply work to your faith.

Beloved examine your complaint, where is that voice coming from, what role do you play in keeping it valid? Are others helping keep it valid (enablers)? Review God’s promises and apply faith to your works, it will shut down the voice of victimology.

God bless you and command your day!!!
