I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth. -Numbers 24:17

Good morning and tremendous Tuesday to you! Another day closer to Christmas prompts a review of the prophecy of Christ from the errant prophet Balaam.

Balaam was from Midian and was a well known diviner who had a gift to have audience with the Lord. Coming out of what seemed to be no-where this story shows us God had people who were not of the linage of Jacob.

Balaam lost favor with the Lord when greed launched him on a journey to curse who God had blessed, Israel. After his third try once again resulted in the Lord speaking through him blessings, Balaam took not money but a threat from the Moabite King.

Balaam while departing on perhaps the same mule that warned him of death in his path, looked at the tents of Israel and pronounced the scripture above. In it notice how he said out of Israel will come a star.

That star is the representation of the one which drew wise men on a several year trip to see Christ as a toddler. and finally at that place of the star, arose a scepter or the representation of Kingship.

So in an epic prophecy fulfilled approximately 20 generations before the birth of the Lord, even a fallen prophet foretells His coming..

God bless you and command your day!!!
