Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? -Matthew 6:31


Good morning and happy hump day to you! 

The scripture above is an inspiration to me and certainly one that shapes my approach to life. 


The Lord Jesus spoke these words in His first revival (tic). He was encouraging His listeners to not allow things not in their control to change their focus. 


The word take jumps out as it infers possession and perhaps even by force. We “take” thought over things which are not our assignment. The Lord literally told Peter to mind his own business when he questioned someone else’s mortality. 


Instead of taking thought, give over to the Lord what He has promised to “take” and carry only the assigned weight.

  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. -John 3:17 Good morning and happy Monday to you!  The Lord Jesus came to this world not to condemn us, but to show us what true righteousness is. His mission had multiple purposes, and I will highlight two of them. First, we needed an example of righteousness—someone conceived without sin and who lived a sinless life. Next, because of His immaculate conception and sinless existence, He was qualified to be sacrificed. This requirement was too great for sinful man to fulfill.
