Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: -1 Peter 5:8
Good morning and TGIF! Beloved the saying that there is strength in numbers has some truth especially when that number is gathered in worship of God.
Further we are told in Hebrews 10, to “forsake not the fellowship”, this is not just good advice but necessitated by God to make us an interactive community, one that can gather our abilities to protect the whole.
The Apostle Peter refers to the danger of the enemy in forsaken fellowship as a hungry lion. I am not sure what is more frightful, the size, the teeth or the roar.
Rarely is the roar used while hunting on a group. The most important thing then is to separate out one from the protection of the flock. The most danger is now the “seeking”.
The enemy is looking for loners. A loner can’t stop being a loner by simply tuning in, via radio, or TV, further live broadcast can not suffice because a touch can not be simulated over the airways, it takes presence to get some things.
As a famous sports commentator once said there is the broadcast game and the live game (being there) the prior is like a shell of the being there game.
Finally in order to know the vices of the enemy you must keep your head in the game…Do this by being sober and un-fearfully watchful. As iron sharpens iron implies close proximity your ability to see and thwart the plans comes from close fellowship with other believers.
Go fellowship this weekend, we all need it.
God bless you and command your day!!!
