2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting. -Micah 5
God bless you and happy Monday! This weekend my wife went to purchase the Christmas vittles and my stomach came into agreement with a hearty amen.
As I unloaded the metal mule (aka her car) of its burden my mind drifted back to the prophecy shown above. It hinted at a journey which would take place several centuries later of a real mule laden with a mother with child.
The child inside was the bread of heaven. And by definition, Epratah means bread and Bethlehem means house. So the true bread would displaced something called bread.
The mother no older than a young teen, likely was slight except for the womb, along side her a wiry man named Joseph, all headed to the small city of King David’s nativity.
Soon the world around them would bristle as a choir of angels appeared to shepherds and a star would emerge guiding wisemen from the East.
All this goings on in a town of less than 1000. Notice that God always uses small things to bring about a change. Things which seem to face insurmountable odds are brought to bear to sling the rock of triumph.
Beloved in this season never discount the small things that God uses to bless you with great victories.
