Good morning, God bless you and Happy Monday. On last Friday the Lord impressed upon me to teach on strongholds; so as promised let’s delve right in. 


What is a stronghold. By definition a stronghold refers to a fortified structure meant to withstand assaults that would normally topple most structures. 


As Paul referred to them he is speaking of spiritual resistance, ways of thinking that imprisons and is almost impervious to sound doctrine. 


Strongholds are methods that the enemy uses to keep us in a certain place based purely on our thinking. For example the enemy may cause a child to be molested and deep within themselves they see that as the natural order of things and accept it, thus legitimizing the stronghold. 


Truly as a man (woman) thinks, so is he. So as early as possible the enemy begins to work on our beliefs. If he can pervert it as a child’s mind is developing, then he can place an impedance (stronghold) that can last generations. 


The enemy like a carpenter will build the stronghold and after it is sound and in place doesn’t maintain it. Think about it the carpenter doesn’t come to cut your grass, change batteries in your smoke detector or other similar tasks, who maintains it? 


We do. And the only way to destroy them is sound doctrine. Sound doctrine received changes the way we think.  Changing the way we think comes forward out of our mouths,  and the way we live our lives expresses that the stronghold has been destroyed.

His mission had multiple purposes, and I will highlight two of them. First, we needed an example of righteousness—someone conceived without sin and who lived a sinless life.
