1 And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword.

2 Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.

3 And when he saw that, he arose, and went for his life, and came to Beersheba, which belongeth to Judah, and left his servant there.    1 Kings 19

Good morning and God bless you. So it’s Tuesday again. Many would become bored with the passing of time, but to be conscious of the passing meaning you are still among the living.

Which means God still has purpose to be fulfill with an assignment He has developed with you in mind. The prophet Elijah had given up hope.

After all the work God had performed through him to include feeding him and protecting him, here is the great prophet running for his life from the evil queen.

It has always amazed me where this story is in the bible in terms of how we can be witnesses to a great move of God, but the moment the devil says something contrary to what God has said we go into a corner to shiver.

But even though Elijah had failed God, the Lord did not utterly cast him out of His grace. Why? Because God still had purpose for Elijah. Even with us though we fail the Lord time again, if we would like Elijah humble ourselves and repent then God continues to work His purpose through us.

On this morning I want to encourage you to not allow yourself to waddle in past failures, nor allow anyone to keep you in remembrance of things you have repented of. Get up, get in line and go forth into God’s purpose for you.
