7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

8 O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

9 O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

10 The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.

                                                                                             -Psalms 34

Good morning, happy Friday and for sure God bless you! While thinking on the Lord this morning, the scripture above kept coming into my thoughts.

How fitting is that scripture in the season that we are in. 2020 has been more than an eye opener, it has also revealed God’s power to save, power over nature, power over sicknesses and power over all He has created.

This year one rare oddity is we have had so many named storms that the naming convention has begun using the Greek Alphabet. The current storm is Delta, so the next one will be Epsilon.

As if that isn’t eye opening, consider though this pandemic is highly contagious, its ability to kill has been tampered as 98% recovery rate is the norm, as compared to flu it is less deadly.

The stories of heroism by those in the medical profession highlights that God has earth bound Angels; many worked with inadequate PPE and many who contracted the virus, recovered and went right back to work.

I recently read of the gentleman who is over 100, had but beat Covid-19. But as I read those stories I think of how the Lord is yet on the throne and how He does provide protection for those who fear Him.

Verse 9 caught me off guard this morning as I realized what it saying.

It contrasts difference between needs and wants…Food may be a need, but it is also a want. Verse 9 addresses our wants while verse 10 speaks of a need that is not fulfilled.

The further in verse 10 which drives home the point is want is spoke of again, God provides all of our needs according to His riches in glory, but God does more than provide emergency rations (manna), God blesses us often times with our wants.

Could you imagine if God did slumber or sleep, where would we be?

But because our God is awesome in power, might and is an all knowing God, He places His angels on the perimeter (outside, boundaries) as well as among us. Who wouldn’t serve a God like that?

Have a great weekend.
